“Temporal elasticity: Demystifying performance expression in German late Romantic organ music”

Research outline: The idea of this project is to compare the professional performance of Max Reger's (1873-1916) Choral Prelude op. 135a/1 with the computer-simulated performance programmed in accordance with the Hugo Riemann (1849-1919) phrasing principles. Slides of my presentation are available here. All recordings were made in the Church of St. Andrew & St. Paul in Montréal at the Casavant pipe organ equipped with MIDI interface.
